Ads by Danny ("I", "me", "my") is a sole-proprietor performance marketing practice based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, how it is used, and what rights you have over it.
This site is operated in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the rights described under GDPR also apply to you.
What information I collect
I collect two kinds of information: what you give me directly, and what is collected automatically as you browse.
Information you provide: when you submit the contact form — your name, email address, phone number, business type, your stated goal, and any message you write. Nothing on this site requires you to create an account or provide payment details.
Collected automatically: IP address, browser type and user agent, device and screen information, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city level, derived from IP), and interactions with the page (clicks, scrolls, form submissions).
Why I use it
To respond to you. Contact form data is used to prepare your written report, arrange the strategy session, and reply to your enquiry.
To measure and improve the site. Aggregate analytics show which pages are read, where visitors come from, and where the site is confusing.
To measure advertising. When you arrive from an ad, conversion events tell the ad platform that the campaign worked — without revealing your identity to me beyond what you submitted.
Legal basis (GDPR). Contact form processing relies on your consent and on steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract; analytics and advertising rely on your consent, given through the cookie banner.
Third-party services I use
These providers process data on my behalf or as independent controllers. Each has its own privacy policy.
Hostinger — website hosting and server logs.
Resend — delivery of the contact form to my inbox.
Google — Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion measurement, Google Fonts.
Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — Meta Pixel and the Conversions API for measuring ad performance. When you submit the form, a hashed (irreversible) version of your email and phone number may be sent to Meta to match the conversion to an ad click.
Microsoft Clarity — anonymised session recordings and heatmaps showing how pages are used.
LinkedIn — the Insight Tag for advertising measurement.
Cookie-Script — the cookie consent banner and record of your choices.
Elfsight — the reviews widget on the homepage.
YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) — embedded case-study videos; nothing loads until you press play.
Anthropic — the AI brief assistant, if you choose to use it. Your conversation is processed to produce the brief and is not used to train models.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Strictly necessary cookies (including the one that remembers your cookie choices) are always set. Analytics and advertising cookies are governed by the banner shown on your first visit.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie badge in the corner of the page, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from using the site or contacting me.
How long data is kept
Contact form enquiries: kept in my email and CRM for up to 3 years after our last contact, so I can pick up the conversation where it stopped.
Analytics data: retained according to each provider's default (Google Analytics up to 14 months; Microsoft Clarity up to 30 days).
Server logs: rotated by the host, typically within 30 days.
Cookie consent record: 180 days, after which you are asked again.
Who your data is shared with
I do not sell personal information, and I do not share it with anyone beyond the service providers listed above. Data may be disclosed if required by law, a court order, or to protect legal rights.
Some providers store data outside Canada (primarily in the United States and the European Union). Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by those providers.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA you may request access to the personal information I hold about you and ask for corrections. If GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the right to erasure, restriction, portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@adsbydanny.com. I will respond within 30 days.
If you are unsatisfied with my response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), or to your local supervisory authority in the EEA/UK.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted and are rate-limited to prevent abuse. Access to the inbox and analytics accounts is protected by two-factor authentication.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. I keep the amount of data collected deliberately small so that there is little to expose.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will be updated and, where the change affects how your data is used, a notice will be shown on the site.
